"ROCK‚N‘SLEEP“ Schlossgrabenfest 2010

Hesse’s largest music festival, numerous live bands, free admission!

Every year since 1999 the last weekend in May has seen anything up to 400,000 music fans descending on Darmstadt. For four whole days the Hesse music festival takes over this city which for the rest of the year is the city of science and students.

Covering some 20,000 m2 of the city centre including the area around the Residence, Friedensplatz, Ernst-Ludwigs Platz, Karolinenplatz and the Schlossgraben and providing and exciting mix of all sorts of music both for a more wider audience and for the younger scene as well. Each year the Schlossgrabenfest has striven to expand and improve. The expansion of the events and the inclusion of different styles of music has gone hand in hand with the rapid increase in visitor numbers. Some 100 stands offering a range of foods and drinks from all over the world cater for the visitors' every need. http://www.schlossgrabenfest.de

Confirmed acts include the English party band Right Said Fred, J.B.O., the Punkrock Trio Itchy Poopzkid,  „Boppin\' B“ and the excellent AC/DC tribute band “AB/CD“. It goes without saying that the line up of established bands will be supported by a number of up and coming young newcomers hoping to gain SGF approval: this year’s hopefuls coming to Darmstadt include such fresh new talent as the Danish Indie-Rock band "Dúné“, the electric duo “Urlaub in Polen“, the smart rock-trio “Noch\'ne Band“ and the sensational kid “Galahad“ from Sweden – winner of the worldwide Emergenza-Contest – all of whom have what it takes to make the big time

And the best of it all is:  For the third year in succession the WELCOME HOTEL DARMSTADT is right there in the thick of things!
