Darmstadt's Technical University (TUD)
Darmstadt’s Technical University (Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUD)) is the only one of its kind in Hesse. The university is known for the close ties it promotes between its research departments and local businesses. On 1st January 2005 the TUD became Germany’s first and only autonomous university. In the university’s opinion the darmstadtium science and congress centre as a venue for world class, international science congresses, seminars and conferences is an excellent addition to the city which perfectly complements its profile as an internationally recognised university city of standing.
